Destiel Doomsday

desperately-seeking-words:

I am standing by my prediction that, by the end of this weeks episode, Jack is going to accidentally send Cas to the AU, which is how he ends up teaming up with Lucifer, probably against Michael, and that the Winchesters will be stuck on the other side.

This would already be super painful, but they just got Cas back.  We are going to get a taste of how wonderful it is to have Cas back only for Cas to up and disappear again.

And is Dean going to take that lying down? Hell no.

Sam will probably see it as a positive thing.  Hey, Cas is tough, and at least this way someone can begin the search for Mary while they try to figure out how to get the door open again (once they find Jack, that is).  Makes sense. Dean?  Dean will see it as Cas being trapped with his murderer.  Dean will see it as losing Cas all over again if he doesn’t do something and do something fast, and you know that he will.

And this is all despite the fact that he just had this conversation with Billie:

Billie: This whole multiversal quantum construct we live in…it’s like a house of cards. And the last thing I need is some big, dumb Winchester knocking it all down.

Dean: Hmm. That does sound like us.

Then, when Dean asks about his mom, Billie promptly sends him back so she doesn’t have to answer.  She does not want Dean messing with other worlds anymore.

Of course, Dean has renewed hope now that Cas is back, and he is not going to let that go without a fight. So even if he has his doubts about Mary, he will do whatever it takes to open a door to that other world again to get Cas, and hopefully Mary, back.

And so maybe you’re wondering why I titled this Destiel Doomsday.  Yes, it is a Doctor Who reference: because, this whole idea of breaking walls between universes in order to be with the person you love? This sounds really freaking familiar.

When Rose Tyler ends up trapped in an AU, the Doctor is able to communicate with her one last time.  Part of that conversation discusses the consequences if they were to be reunited:

Rose: Can’t you come through properly?

Doctor: The whole thing would fracture.

Rose: So?

And we find out later that Rose was doing everything in her power to find a way to get back to the Doctor, and eventually she does, but only when those walls between universes are already falling apart.

So, my prediction is that Cas will get trapped in the AU, and both he and Dean, working from opposite sides of the wall, are going to do everything they can to get back to one another.  Unfortunately, this will also be the catalyst for some major cosmic consequences, and I’d be fascinated to find out how that plays out and what that will mean for the other worlds.

If this is where the show goes, I will probably die.  Because, paralleling Rose and Ten? Potentially breaking down the fabric of the universe in order to get back to each other?
