Bear with me as I take you on a magnificent journey of a failed seduction (A+ for effort though!)

So we start with Bart the Crossroads Demon having ordered cherry pie. Obviously it’s for Dean because he pushes it directly towards him.

Does this mean that by now, Dean’s fondness for pie is known to the entire supernatural community? Or did Bart hear it from Crowley? These are important questions.

Dean rejects the pie (well, as far as Bart knows, anyway). Strike one.

Then Bart mentions how they all have in common that they are natural disruptors. He looks at both Dean and Sam but gestures at Dean. And when Dean sarcastically mutters “yeah, we’re twinsies”, we get this:

That is some intense lip-touching action. Dean was obviously expecting some kind of sarcastic quip back, but instead gets this. He’s not into it though, and breaks the eye contact. Strike two.

Then Dean says: “See, here’s the thing. When a demon asks us to jump, we don’t ask ‘how high?’. We just dice their ass.”

Bart looks positively delighted. He even chuckles a little. And again, tries to hold the eye contact.

Again, Dean isn’t into it at all and stonewalls him. Strike three.

As a final attempt, Bart employs a mix of a few pick-up artistry (PUA for short) tactics: negging and complimenting the target’s ‘second-in-command’ (usually a best friend or in this case a brother). The purpose of these tactics are to undermine the target’s self-confidence, make them jealous and desire the PUA’s approval.

So Bart says: “Sam,…

Nice try Bart – really, the PUA community would be so proud.

But unfortunately it’s gonna take a bit more effort than that (and a bit less “being an actual demon” – I think Dean only has room for one demon in his life and that one unfortunately died) to seduce Dean Winchester.

Thanks for playing, try again next time!

This is awesome and YES he is really throwing all the moves at Dean here. It’s very enticing to watch. Though the one thing I don’t entirely agree with is that Dean is 100% opposed to the idea.

Dean still ate the pie after all. He turned around and watched the guy go. Outwardly yes, its a failed seduction, but Bart walks away like he succeeded with a big smirk on his face and Sam’s reaction to Dean eating the pie sold it for me. I don’t think the seduction was a complete failure for that reason. Dean is perhaps just a tiny bit tempted I think. But we’ll see how it all turns out in the episode. 🙂
