WTF is a “gummy smile”

I am pretty sure I’ve wanted about this before, but in case that was just in my head I’m ranting again.

In WHAT universe does “gummy smile” sound appealing?? I get totally squiked out whenever I read it and just totally ruins the scene for me.

Am I just wierd??

I mean, ok, I know I’m wierd, but am I wierd about this??

Can someone PLEASE give me an example of what a gummy smile looks like so maybe I can stop dry heaving in the middle of fan fic??
