Shoshannah Stern shared this awesome TED talk that has helped me understand why I am so interested in learning ASL, even though I have no immediate impetus to do so..that is, I am not Deaf, I don’t have any Deaf friends, loved ones, or coworkers, nor do I work where I come into contact with deaf people on a regular basis, (although I am a teacher so there is some chance that I might).
