The folks who rack their brains trying to come up with SOMETHING they did that should have tipped them off
The people whose friends are really, honestly, completely surprised
The people who feel like their own gender came at them out of left field
To the people who feel like they had to figure out a different part of their queer identity before they could “unlock” the gender part
It’s okay.
We didn’t understand gender roles when we were little. And as we grew up we didn’t think we were allowed to break those roles, so we didn’t realize what our identities were until we gave ourselves space to question.
You didn’t have to always know. And that’s okay.
