“If you can’t get help, scream a little louder.”
Fan: “Have you ever been told, like, you’ve saved someone’s
life from watching Supernatural or any other of your shows?…You’ve saved my
life. All the cast from Supernatural has saved my life, and…I just
want to thank you so much.”Mark: “I want to tell you something that’s really important.
How old are you?”Fan: “I’m turning eighteen in like two months.”
Mark: “Okay, listen: we didn’t save your life, I can tell
you that. Anything that’s brought you to this point, you have done, you have
participated in. You took the actions necessary to take care of yourself. We’re
very glad to help. We’re glad to be comforting and assisting in the best ways that
we can. We’re glad that you like the stories that we tell and what we do. But
you’re the one that’s brave enough to pick up a microphone and say that out
loud. You’re the one that’s brave enough to do today…like you did yesterday,
like you did the day before. If you’re struggling and you’re having a hard
time, the rule is you’re supposed to get help. That’s the job. If you can’t get
help, scream a little louder. There’s help there, and people can help you. We’re
glad to be part of this, but we don’t fix it for you. There’s nobody outside
you that can make you better. You did
it. You got up today, you managed to get through thus far today. And you’ll
probably get through tomorrow. Cool?”
