Dear Neil, Do you know what “queer” means as a sexual orientation that is distinct from the categories heterosexual/straight, gay/lesbian, or bisexual? I have a number of students who self identify in this way. I want to be sensitive to them and I don’t know what this means. I asked my gay brother and he thought it might mean people who are in touch with and comfortable enough with their sexuality to participate in activities/behaviors that a minority of people would enjoy. Do you know? Thnx!
