Me on tumblr: Sam Winchester is an amazingly nuanced and loving character, and Jared Padalecki is a phenomenal actor for being able to portray all of those nuances and still portray completely different equally nuanced characters like Lucifer and Gadreel and Meg and that kid Gary and even Sam without a soul to the point you can tell from body language alone which character he is.
