Let’s suspend disbelief and being analytical for a bit, but, if 11×23 would have ended the way they all planned with Dean’s bomb going off… If it were up to you.. How would you write 12×01? #almostlikeaprompt

Hmmm… that’s an interesting idea. Obviously, something would go wrong when exploding a mostly theoretical, untested soul bomb, which has never been done before, and the lines between Heaven, Earth, Hell, and Purgatory are all messed up to hell and back already.

Dean doesn’t die, but very obviously, something is wrong. For one, Amara is still there with him, but she’s… different. Almost incorporeal, and keeps flickering in and out, scared, but not angry. For two, well, they aren’t where they were. You’ve got Billy showing up, clearly shouting, trying to get some message across, but it’s like she’s underwater, and neither Amara or Dean can understand what she’s trying to say. They can read one thing she keeps repeating. “RUN!”

They run. Billie flickering in and out of view ahead of them, constantly screaming for them to keep running, and Dean and Amara don’t know what it is, but they can FEEL something chasing after them, like a tidal wave ready crash down and swallow them whole. They can see… people, glimpses of people they’ve met, seen, heard of, defeated, but they’re wrong somehow, different, like their from a different time, all of them screaming at them to keep running, many of them flying straight at Dean and crashing through him like a wave breaking against his body. Cain. Abaddon. Tessa. Anna.

And Dean FEELS different. Like when he had the MoC and felt rage and bloodlust and murder in his veins, but this… this is different. It’s electricity and light and sound and flying through the cosmos unbounded. Amara remains corporeal and solid when he grabs her hand to drag her along, because despite the power she holds, power doesn’t equal a threat. Chuck has power. Sam had powers. Cas has powers. She he pulls her with him because he still has faith there’s good in her, that there’s always has been past the fury at her brother’s betrayal.

They follow Billie through the pitch black wood with shadows and darkness and teeth closing in, they run and stubble and pick each other up when they fall, only to come to a skittering stop at a cliff’s edge, rocks and leaves and dirt toppling over under Dean’s boots and Amara’s bleeding feet. Billie is standing in midair over the chasm, a glowing portal behind her, still screaming that the run.

Dean yells back, motions to the cliff and the endless fall between them and the portal to somewhere where the tidal wave isn’t still gaining strength the crash down. Amara is shaking his arm, looking back with horrified eyes growing wide, before whirling on Dean, his face between her hands.

Fly,” she whispers, before pressing her mouth to his in a bruising kiss and falling unconscious in his arms, power shooting out in a circle around them, and causing Dean to throw his head back on a howl, light pouring from every pore as fabric rips and tears and  mass occupies space that had just been empty.

He doesn’t know how, and he doesn’t have time to question, seeing now the shape bigger than the whole word ready to overtake them. He scoops God’s sister into his arms, and uses his legs to throw them over the cliff’s edge and into open air just as the wave starts to come down, the force and wind of it, catching beneath them and thrusting them full-force in a chaotic spiral through the portal while he clings tightly to Amara’s limp form.

He hits the ground, rolls to shouts and cries of alarm to land on his feet in a crouch while his family and their allies stand back, weapons at the ready. Feathers rustle as Dean opens up the protective covering of his massive wings, standing with Amara cradled in his arms, both of them covered in blood and scratches and bruises- though Dean’s already appear to be slowly healing.

Billie backs away warily. Rowena has a hand clasped to her mouth, and Crowley, of all people, crosses himself at the sight of them. Cas can only stare, shaking his head, unable to comprehend what he is seeing. Only Chuck stumbles forward, worry and concern all over his face as he takes his sister from Dean’s arms and kneels to cradle her on the floor.

“What happened to you?” Sam finally manages.

The wings move and Sam flinches. “Amara. We couldn’t get to the portal otherwise.”

“She made you an angel,” Rowena whispers.

“No,” Chuck says, gently brushing his sister’s hair away from her face. “She made him something new.”

Hope you liked it??

I feel like I should make a post about this because it’s not something that’s very well-known, and that Americans in particular may need to know about given the uncertain state of our healthcare system at the moment. I’ve wanted to write this out for a while, It’s kind of a long post, so sorry about that!

If you have an emergency and have to go to the hospital, you’ll owe the hospital a lot of money.
(I got into a car wreck and broke my ankle and my arm. My hospital bill was around $20,000)

You’ll also owe the ambulance provider, if you need one.
(My ambulance bill was about $800)

You may get separate bills from the anesthesiologist or surgeon.
(My anesthesiologist bill was $1,700)

You may need follow-up appointments.
(My orthopedic surgeon billed me for the appointments and his surgery together and it was about $1,000)

You’ve also got to pay for medical equipment you need afterward, like crutches or a walking boot.
(Mine cost about $75)

Altogether, I ended up with almost $24,000 in medical debt from one car accident. That’s a really scary number for someone like me who makes $10/hr at a 12 hour a week job.

I got my debt down to $1075 by making some phone calls and submitting some paperwork.

The first thing I did was contact the hospital. They don’t make it easy to find, but many hospitals (perhaps most hospitals?) have financial assistance programs for people who can’t afford medical bills. I don’t make a lot of money, and I have bills to pay, so they were able to help me.
I called the billing department and asked if they had any assistance programs for low income people who can’t pay their bills. I had to call multiple times, and I got transferred in circles by people who didn’t know what I was talking about. Finally, I got an appointment with someone in “Eligibility Services” (I don’t know what other hospitals call it, if it’s something different). I had to bring my pay stubs and copies of all of my bills. When I got to the hospital for the appointment, nobody knew what I was talking about so I had to wander a little to find where I needed to go. I spoke with the guy in Eligibility Services, and I waited for a decision on how much of the bill they would forgive. A month later, I got a call telling me it was totally forgiven.

I did the same thing for my ambulance bill and my anesthesiologist, but the process was a LOT easier. I just had to mail some paperwork and it was totally forgiven.

I didn’t bother with the medical equipment suppliers, since the bills came from separate companies and I didn’t feel like going through the process twice for $75. I was assured at the hospital that they had similar programs for debt forgiveness, so I could have probably avoided paying that too.

The only thing I couldn’t get taken care of was the surgeon/follow-up appointment cost, but they were able to put me on a no-interest payment plan.

Medical debt is scary because it’s something that can come from stuff that’s already really scary. I didn’t need the burden of $24,000 in debt on top of trying to get around on a crutch with a broken arm (it’s not easy, believe me!).. but I can’t imagine what it would be like with a bigger debt or a more severe medical emergency.
I see lots of people in even worse trouble than I was in, both financially and medically. Please know that there are options for you when that GoFundMe doesn’t do enough. Even if your income is higher than mine, it’s worth a shot even for partial debt forgiveness.

I am about 900% sure there are people who don`the know this.

PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU LIVE IN AMERICA AND HAVE MEDICAL BILLS

I had to do this once as well and I can ABSOLUTELY confirm that this is true.

Get in contact with the hospital. Don’t just…sit there and let the anxiety grow and panic and then ignore it in an effort to find peace.

Judge: Transgender People A Protected Class, And The Military Can’t Enact Trump Ban

profeminist:

“A federal judge late Friday barred the federal government from implementing President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender members of the military, finding that the ban had to be subject to a careful court review before implementation because of the history of discrimination against transgender individuals.

U.S. District Judge Marsha Pechman of the Western District of Washington ruled that transgender people were a protected class and that the injunctions against the implementation of the ban that had been issued in December should remain in place. She wrote that there was a “long and well-recognized” history of discrimination and systemic oppression against transgender people, that discrimination against transgender people was clearly “unrelated to their ability to perform and contribute to society,” that transgender people have immutable characteristics and that they lacked relative political power.

“Transgender people have long been forced to live in silence, or to come out and face the threat of overwhelming discrimination,” Pechman wrote.

“The Court also rules that, because transgender people have long been subjected to systemic oppression and forced to live in silence, they are a protected class. Therefore, any attempt to exclude them from military service will be looked at with the highest level of care, and will be subject to the Court’s ‘strict scrutiny.’ This means that before Defendants can implement the Ban, they must show that it was sincerely motivated by compelling interests, rather than by prejudice or stereotype, and that it is narrowly tailored to achieve those interests,” Pechman wrote.

While Trump had tweeted that he consulted generals and military experts about the ban, Pechman wrote that the government had “failed to identify even one General or military expert he consulted, despite having been ordered to do so repeatedly.”

THIS IS HUGE NEWS and can have major implication for trans rights moving forward in the US as it establishes a precedent for legal treatment of trans people as a protected class due to ongoing persecution. This means it would be illegal to fire someone, to refuse them a job, or a home/apartment rental, because the person is trans.

Judge: Transgender People A Protected Class, And The Military Can’t Enact Trump Ban

I really need to vent, I am just infuriated about people’s reactions at Sam leaving Lucifer! I have come across the words “jealous” “backstabbing” and “betrayal” like seriously?! Lucifer has tortured Sam for years and he’s just going to what? Up and forgive Lucifer for everything. Let him into his home. Lucifer might want to be a dad but that won’t make him a good father. God apologized to him but he’s yet to apologize for what he’s done but he says he’s changed. All he does is play the victim

semirahrose:

Exactly this! Sam is a forgiving person, and I think people take for granted that Sam should forgive even the worst offenders, without realizing how horrifying the real-life implications of that actually are. A survivor of assault does not owe his assaulter forgiveness. A survivor of torturer does not owe his tormentor forgiveness.

The sheer amount of hate out there for Sam defending himself from and expressing some long-repressed anger at his torturer of centuries (or more) astounds and disgusts me. It’s even more unsettling because of the clear double standards. Lucifer’s hate, violence, brutality, and rage are justified, but Sam’s attempts at self-protection are vilified.

I wonder if the same people who called Sam “backstabbing” used the same epithet for Lucifer when he forced Sam to endure visions of his own brutal torture and used them to convince Sam that God was communicating with him.

Did they call Lucifer a backstabber when he lured Sam down there and trapped him inside the makeshift Cage and immediately started in with the gross prison rape jokes?  What about when he manipulated Sam and made him feel shame about himself, or when Sam’s firm “no” resulted in Lucifer physically attacking him? When he possessed Castiel and used Sam’s trust in Cas to stab his hand into Sam’s soul and try to kill him, did those people accuse Lucifer of “betrayal”?

Did they recoil in horror when Sam was forced to act as an intermediary for “god,” the being who didn’t deserve the faith of his followers, and Lucifer, the being who shredded Sam’s soul? Was it horrifying to them when Lucifer locked himself into Sam’s own bedroom to play out an immature tantrum?

Have they called Lucifer cruel and a traitor for raping Kelly Kline, bringing Sam back to life only so that he could use that life (and the threat of Sam’s death) against him and the people he loved?

People say Lucifer was on the path to redemption and deserved to see it through and pay his penance, but

that’s
not
true.

Redemption requires remorse, and Lucifer, the Prince of Lies, has not shown a jot of it. In fact, he has continued to laughingly torment Sam and glory in his fear.

I mean, let’s just—

penance   noun: The performance of some act of self-mortification or the undergoing of some penalty as an expression of sorrow for sin or wrongdoing.

And how about—

redemption   noun: an act of redeeming or atoning for a fault or mistake, or the state of being redeemed.

No, what we’ve seen on screen is a gross sympathy play, a faux-redemption. SPN is very good at taking characters who have done cruel things and then trying to excuse their actions with “oh, but he’s been hurt,” or “oh, but he’s a funny guy who deserves to be loved!”

They try to excuse the inexcusable and cry “Redemption!” when no attempts at redemption have been made.

I’m not going to say that there’s any person who can’t be redeemed, but people who are worthy of redemption are people who actually seek it, no matter the cost to themselves.

So, no. Lucifer does not deserve redemption. He does not deserve to have anyone hear him out. Instead of apologizing, he has lied, manipulated, and cast himself as a victim rather than the aggressor he has spent the last several millennia being.

In fact, he deserved more than a rather tame push to the chest and a, “Yeah, I’m not letting you into my home again.”

In short, Anon, I could not agree more.

I’ve decided that I will no longer grade papers on a standard A-F scale. Instead, it will be 🍷 to 🍷🍷🍷🍷, as in, how much wine did it take to get me through the paper.

Yesterday, I got an 11 page 🍷🍷🍷🍷+ mess. Let’s see what today brings!

This is a fantastic idea!!! I’m so changing my lab report rubric to a wine glass rubric!!!
