Summary: It’s Gabriel and Anna’s fourth anniversary of being together as couple, and Anna has something special in mind to end their day.

Notes: This story takes place in a universe where Bobby Singer adopted an orphaned girl after a hunt gone wrong. Years later, she gained the attention of our favorite candy loving Archangel turned Trickster.

We wanted to share this with you but didn’t know where to start exactly, so why not in the middle. It doesn’t take a lot of background to follow this bit but if you want more of Anna and Gabriel let us know. We might be persuaded to write further adventures for them.

The day had been perfect. It was their 4th anniversary, and the whole day had gone according to plan, minus a small hiccup with her Dad. Bobby was still upset with Gabriel for his “time away”, but the two of them didn’t let that spoil their day.

They had breakfast in bed which wasn’t so much a meal as working up an appetite and then wandered out to the kitchen for some bacon and eggs. The rest of the day had been an easy going, go with the flow, with just a little structuring on Anna’s part. She had a plan for their evening, and the day had to go perfectly to set up her idea. After dinner, the two of them curled up on the couch to have an original Star Trek movie marathon. Halfway through the ‘Search for Spock’ Anna decided it was time to get her plan in motion if it was going to work in time. She let out a gasp and looked to Gabriel with a small pout. “I forgot the cake!” she exclaimed.

“That’s okay, cupcake. I can whip one up in a blink. What flavor do you want?” Gabriel asked, raising his hand to snap.

Anna shook her head, sitting up from his side. “No, it was a special one, and I was going to get it just for you. It’s a Mrs. Kendick’s Honey Cake. It’s special and you can only get it this time of year. I was going to have the cake with that bourbon ice cream I bought.” She turned more toward him. “Would you go get it?”

“They have to be closed by now,” Gabriel said glancing at the clock on the mantle. When he turned his attention back to Anna and her pleading eyes, he let out a small sigh and kissed her on the cheek. “Okay, cupcake. I’ll get it and do a little time jump if needed. But no watching the movie without me.”

Anna’s pout turned to a smile and she leaned over and hugged him. “Thank you, you’re the best, did you know that?”

“I know,” he said as he grabbed her around the waist and flipped so that she was pinned beneath him. Brushing his lips against hers, he murmured, “Be a good girl and wait right here. I’ll be back before you know it.”

Anna giggled looking up at him. She smirked and booped him on the nose. “I’ll be here a while then, because you have to do it the human way. Low profile, remember?” she reminded him, “You can take the Nova, if you want.”

“Raph can suck me and I’m not driving your little white marshmallow car.” Gabriel stood up and crossed to the coat rack, “I’ll keep low though. I don’t need headaches tonight.”

Anna sat up on an elbow to watch him go. “You could take the bike,” she suggested with a wink, “Hurry back. The sooner you get back, the sooner we can have cake, and then dessert.”

He snorted out a laugh as he opened the door and then disappeared. A few minutes later the rumble of his convertibles engine could be heard, meaning he’d snapped it up from wherever he kept it hidden most of the time and had driven off into the night.

The five types of writers block

Inspirationless: where you have the motivation but just can’t think of anything good to write.

Motivation Deprived: you have the idea, but just, don’t really wanna.

Pooped: Basically you have no ideas and don’t really feel like writing anyways.

Procrastination: Where you are SO PUMPED TO GET THIS THING DONE!! But, there’s that other thing, and, your show is on, and, you’ll just do it tomorrow.

“I wanna pop in on Donna while we’re close. Say hey. See how she’s doing.”

Sam raises his eyebrows, and Dean fights the urge to roll his eyes at that knowing expression.

“What?”

“Nothing,” Sam answers. “Just that we aren’t actually close to Donna.”

“Couple of hours,” Dean shrugs.

“Four. Maybe three and a half with the way you drive.”

Writing Body Language

immortallionheart:

How to Improve your writing

This is something that happens every day in your life. A shift of your eyebrow in skepticism, or the way your lip may twitch to a half smile cause you’re trying not to laugh. These behaviors are vital for writing in character, because not only do the allow you to visually see what is happening but it is also reaffirming whatever emotion your character is showing.

So why should you write it?

Much of human communication is non-verbal which means you need to also translate this non-verbal reaction in a post. It allows you to greatly enhance the emotions of another character and always another person to ‘visually’ see how they feel in a post. Most of all, this will add depth and volume to your post to make it feel more real. IT will make your character feel like a human instead of just another fictional person you look at from above.

Below you will find a list different type of emotions and what sort of body language can be exhibited to them.

Three ways to accent an action.

When writing about emotions, there are different ways to verbally write them out. Each one is unique in their own way, allowing you to show more about the emotion.

  1. Emphasize the Emotion.

But doing this, you are expressing both the emotion and the body language. We’ll use a simple example. It’s short and simple yet you can sense he is happy.

John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall.

  2. Complicate the Emotion.

Sometimes, even when you are feeling one emotion, deep down rooted underneath the facade of it all, there is actually an underlining emotion they feel. This is something you have to truly express otherwise no one will know.

John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall. However, it was obvious by the way his nose crinkled that he was disgusted by the actions beforehand. Instead, John covered it up by appearing pleased today.

  3. Contradict the Emotion.

This is a little different than complicate. Contradicting means that you are claiming one thing when in fact its the other. In many ways, this has a variety of uses, from inner depth of the truth to what you see in person, or someone creating a wall. It could be considered a lie, but when is anything that easy?

John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall. In truth, once he was in the classroom, his shoulders slumped and a pout crossed his lips when no one was around, showing just how displeased he was with the situation.

Remember that you do not always have to contradict or complicate anything. Sometimes all you need to do is emphasize and that will be just fine. You don’t always have to have an underlining complicated for an emotion to make it more enhanced.

Do be afraid to use the Thesaurus to also improve an emotion. Such things as “happy” is a nice emotional word, but think of how much more powerful it is when you heard some is “overjoyed” or “content.” She how these emotions matched up with a body language can give two different styles of happiness? Mix and match to find what works best for your character at the time.

When Cas was young, he wanted to be an archangel.

Once he learned that wasn’t possible, Cas decided to emulate his favorite big brother – Gabriel.

Gabriel was easy-going, caring and always the best at easing a tense situation. If he hadn’t been the one to instigate it, of course.

But his brother was the most fair angel Castiel knew.

From helping the fledglings like himself to walking for hours with Gadreel and pointing out all the different flowers and plants as Joshua overlooks to being a giant jungle gym for his younger siblings to crawl on. He was caring and very nearly always smiling. A golden beacon of joy.

Until one day, his smile was tight. His wings weren’t spread as wide to wrap around all of them as they clamored over to him. Even his golden light seemed a little dimmer as he watched him come from where the archangels mostly kept to. Cas had approached him, worry creasing his little brow as he crept closer to his giant of a brother.

“Gabriel? Are you well?” He startles minutely, glancing down at the little angel.

“Humm? Oh, yes, Castiel.”

“You don’t seem well.” Castiel is unconvinced and Gabriel plonks down, his hands and wings ensconcing Castiel into his arms.

“Lucifer and Michael argue lots now. Don’t worry, little dove, it’s usually about stupid, simple things.”

“You don’t argue. Why must they?”

“Everyone argues sometime. They are just very different.”

“We’re different.”

“No, Castiel. You and I aren’t that different at all.” Castiel looks up at Gabriel, confused but with happiness blooming deep in his chest at Gabriel’s confession.

“Really?”

“Really, little dove. We both like watching the bees dance in the flowers, making shapes out of the clouds, we both love our brothers very much and like to watch the goings on of Earth. Life down there is fascinating, and I can’t wait to take you down there, Castiel. To see all the animals and things growing down there. And the things evolving down there! Even more fun to watch than bees!”

“More fun than bees?!” Castiel turns in his arms, standing on Gabriel’s thighs with a wide smile.

“Lots more!”

“And we’ll see Earth together, Gabriel?”

“Oh yeah! Me and you will be together for a long time, little dove.”

“And we won’t argue like Lucifer and Michael, will we?”

“No.” Tilting Castiel’s dropped chin, Gabriel’s smile has a sad tinge now. “We could never argue like them. You’re special, Castiel.”

“I am?”

“Uh-huh. You’re my little dove. The most special angel created.” Gabriel’s praise lights up his eyes and makes them water a little like he was trying to tell Castiel something that he just couldn’t quite grasp.

With every passing day, Gabriel seemed to grow tenser. As did his smile until it nearly disappeared completely. Their Father sent him to deliver a message a few months after that, Castiel pulling on his arm to ask him about Earth and human upon his arrival, only for Gabriel to bestow a tired smile and one word before disappearing into the archangel’s haven, “Later.” Castiel had nodded solemnly at his favorite brother’s back, finally noticing how his shoulders slumped slightly before he disappeared from sight.

And unknown to Castiel, it would be the last time he saw his brother until millennia later, finally seeing him face to face while he was surrounded by a ring of holy fire. It was familiar and yet all too unfamiliar. Gabriel’s vessel’s face held a serious undertone as Dean and Sam spoke to him, the belittlement of his search for their Father still stung. And walking out on his brother, watching the water stream down his face as Dean washed away the holy fire, one was of the little heartbreaks that Castiel had come to know.

And, on that late April evening in 2010, Castiel heard from his brother for the last time.

Cassie, keep these damn Winchesters in line. Don’t underestimate Lucifer and the lengths that dick will go to. Goodbye, little dove.

So, when Castiel steps into the holding cell in which Gabriel had spent far too much time, his big brother’s lips sewn shut, Castiel nearly wept.

Together again, little dove.

Wrapping his arms firmly around his brother’s smaller vessel, he squeezes as tight as he dares.

It’s about time, Gabriel.

“I’m going to take you home, brother. Where you can heal.” Wrapping his own haggard wings around Gabriel, Castiel walks him confidently from his prison and out and thinks to himself of the role reversal. Gabriel needed him now.

And his little dove wouldn’t abandon him.
