Sam and Cas talking to each other and being honest about their mental states is just the nicest thing. Thank you season 14 for showing us them being their supportive, compassionate, kind selves and watching out for each other.
loved this especially because sam and cas are the only ones in the metaphorical room who’s gone through so much together that only they really understand where each other’s state of mind is right now and know the right things to say to each other when they’ve lost one of the trio

Prompt is “2:00 AM”
Demons, nor angels, require sleep. Castiel finds this beneficial. He can linger in the night and spend most of it working on a new case while Sam can get some rest.
But as of recently, Castiel finds the erasure of sleep to be a curse. There is only so much singing that Cas can take from his boyfriend.
Dean Winchester (a brazenly bisexual demon) is convinced of his karaoke talent that stems from his own wishful thinking. The installation of a karaoke machine has greatly decreased Cas’ patience through the night, leaving him longing for a quiet oblivion.
“Dean,” he warns at 2am one morning. “if you sing Country Roads one more time, I will put the microphone in a salt ring.”
Dean lets out a gasp – not one of genuine surprise, but one of offense.
“Cas, baby, I’m the karaoke champion. I gotta practice.”
Cas closes the heavy encyclopedia he was reading, and grabs it with both hands. He heads over to Dean who was queuing up Toxic by Britney Spears, and wacks him on the head with little remorse.
“Bad demon.” He repeats, between hits. “Bad. Bad.”
The blunt noises and Dean’s grunts travel through the bunker. Sam, haunted by the noises, just wants to sleep.
Bwahaha!! *Irony is I’m reading this at 2:52am*
