Summary:

Down on his luck in college, Dean Winchester finds a flyer taped to his dorm’s bulletin board, reading, “Looking for model for long term project. No gender preference, pays in cash.” And desperate as he is for cash, Dean can’t help but feel self-conscious about the entire thing, even after he applies and meets his soon-to-be employer, Professor Castiel Novak. Only Dean never expected him to be so attractive—and so explicit in his desires, as well.

What starts out as a presumably mundane project quickly evolves into Dean’s wildest fantasy, full of lace and nudity and the open road. What he never expected to get out of it, though, is a boyfriend, a better view of life as he knows it, and a lesson on how even the ugliest of scars can be beautiful.

Dean knows what Castiel sees there: the scarred portion of his ribs and the remains of a tattoo hidden there, surgery scars around one knee leading halfway down his calf, slices on his wrists he still can’t admit to himself that he inflicted. He’s a mess, every inch of him.

Yet, Castiel regards him with compassion, skirting his hand down Dean’s arm, down his flank, to rest over his hip. Too intimate—too real. “I never expected you to be a porcelain doll,” Castiel tells him. He thumbs over a scar, feeling the raised indentation there. “Where did you get these?”

Dean sighs. Scrubs his face, just to keep from having to look at Castiel. “Another day,” he huffs, pulling his arms around himself. “Not exactly dinner conversation.”

Castiel nods and pulls his hand away. “Fair enough,” he says, no malice intended. “Are you self-conscious about any of your scars at all?”

Briefly, Dean glances down to his leg, then up to his side, considering between the two. The coloration on his calf has faded over the last few years, enough to where he can wear shorts in the summer when absolutely necessary without attracting attention. His torso, though, is another question entirely—and it’s exactly where Castiel wants to focus his attention. “Guess I can’t really say no to taking my shirt off,” Dean mutters.

“The scars are part of you, though,” Castiel soothes. It doesn’t help Dean feel any better, but at least he’s trying. “You’re unique.”

“Unique.” Dean shakes his head. “You think anyone’d be interested in looking at that, some guy with botched tattoos?” Castiel doesn’t answer that, jaw set in a way that unsettles Dean’s stomach. Great—just what he wants to do, piss off the guy he’s about to share a car with. “Look, just… I’m not used to being… looked at like that. What I do, it’s just to help people. I’m not exactly eye-candy.”

“Some would disagree,” Castiel says, noncommittal. Too noncommittal, actually, if the light flush to Castiel’s cheeks is anything to go by. “It doesn’t matter what people think of you. All that matters is that you’re confident in yourself. Your confidence is what draws people to you, that keeps their interest. You have that charisma, you’re just too shy to show that part of yourself.”

Deep. Dean turns his back, clenching the top of the couch just to keep himself steady. How does Castiel know? And how can he say it with such confidence? Embarrassment paints him red, down his back and up to the tips of his ears. “Because whenever I try,” he starts, slow, testing the waters, “it always gets thrown back in my face.”

Castiel touches him, a hand placed square between his shoulder blades; Dean hates how much it calms him, just from being touched. “I won’t abuse your trust,” Castiel promises. “I don’t want you to be something you’re not. You’re safe with me.”

Summary:

The death of a young man in an apparent animal attack brings hunter Cas Novak to the small town of Sydnam, Maine. It doesn’t take long for him to realize he’s tracking a werewolf, but discovering the killer’s identity is no easy task. All signs point towards Dean Winchester, a lonely recluse who lives in the middle of the woods and whose antagonistic behaviour does little to lessen Cas’ suspicions.

As the investigation drags on, their mutual distrust gives way to a wary alliance. Cas’ instincts warn him that Dean is hiding something, but as he uncovers the man beneath the mystery, his professional interest becomes far more personal. Praying his faith in Dean isn’t misplaced, Cas races to catch the killer before the next full moon rises and another life is abruptly cut short.

The smooth rise and fall of Dean’s shoulders as he shrugs should be illegal. Cas is only human, and he only has a fake badge. So he fights to keep his face impassive and not to betray any of the thousand filthy thoughts running through his head as Dean answers. “Something brought you out here, Agent, and I’m guessing it wasn’t just the fact that they found Ryan on the road to my place. Somebody’s been telling you all the local myths, haven’t they?”

“I’ve been told there’s some mystery attached to you and your family, yes.” Cas tilts his head to the side, considering. “Why do you think that is?”

Dean’s voice is quiet when he replies. “People don’t like what they don’t understand.” He looks away from Cas as he speaks, but there’s a note of sadness in those simple words, and weariness as well. It strikes a chord within Cas, and he almost reaches out, but restrains himself at the last minute.

It’s probably a good thing, because when Dean turns back to face him, that mocking gleam is in his eyes once more. “And you’re no different, are you?”

“No.” Cas keeps his eyes fixed on Dean. “I am trying to understand, Mr. Winchester. For that boy’s sake.”

Dean tips his head back against the chair and closes his eyes. “Go home, Agent. There’s nothing to understand here. Ryan Garland was killed by a wild animal. It’s awful, and I’m sorry for his family, but that’s all there is to it. Let them grieve in peace.”

Is that what Dean is doing out here, all alone in the woods? Grieving in peace? What happened to John Winchester, and why did Sam Winchester never come back after he left for college? Cas still has so many unanswered questions, and while he tries to tell himself it’s all somehow relevant to the case, he knows it isn’t that simple.

It’s Dean he really wants to understand.

Cas stands and offers his hand to Dean, who gives him an unreadable look, then clasps it in his own. His palm is broad and warm and lighty calloused, and Cas swallows roughly at the feel of it.

“Thank you for your time, Mr. Winchester,” he manages. “If I have any further questions–”

“You know where to find me.” Dean drops his hand and smirks.

Biting back an unprofessional remark, Cas strides towards his truck. He pauses with his hand on the door and looks back at the house, at Dean sitting there, perfectly at ease in his surroundings.

“If it was a wild animal that killed Ryan,” Cas says, “you should be careful out here all by yourself.”

A smile spreads across Dean’s face. Despite the fact that it’s slightly twisted, that bitterness still lingering in his eyes, Cas’ chest tightens with the beauty of it.

“Don’t you worry about me, Agent,” Dean says. “I can take care of myself.”

Summary:

After a nasty breakup, moving thousands of miles away from nothing but problems doesn’t seem crazy to Dean Winchester. Especially not when it means he gets to be closer to his little brother Sam, in his third year at Stanford.

Dean’s out and proud and finally in a city that allows the life he needs. What he wants though, he finds when he meets a hipster artist named Cas and all the colors he comes with.

Their broken roads merge during a coffee shop meet cute, and there’s no such thing as holding on too tight if neither is willing to pull apart.

“Well, good morning, Officer. Fancy meeting you here.”

Dean’s eyes widen and he turns to see Cas standing behind him, a twinkle in his eye. “Reading something good?” he asks.

Dean swallows. “Just some messages from a cute guy I met.” He tucks his phone back into his shirt pocket with a wink.

Oh my god, that was cheesy dude, he’s not gonna fall for that.

But Castiel smiles wide and damn, he’s beautiful. “Is that so? Got a hot date?”

Huh, maybe Dean’s not so bad at this.

He nods and ducks his head, taking a second to appreciate the man in front of him. Cas has a yoga bag slung around his back and he’s wearing black capri yoga pants that hug every curve of his thighs. Dean licks his lips and thinks he’d really like to bite into them.

Fucking hell.

The neck of Cas’ oversized shirt shows off collar bones that Dean wants to lick and he flushes red when Cas clears his throat.

Cas has one eyebrow raised, and he’s wearing a smirk when Dean’s eyes get back to his face. His tongue darts out to wet his lips and Dean imagines this is what a coronary feels like.

Dean’s not going to survive this man.

He takes a steadying breath in through his nose and gives Cas his sweetest smile in some kind of attempt to play off his open staring. “I’m not one to brag but my date? He’s fuckin’ gorgeous.”

Point Winchester.

A faint blush paints Cas’ cheeks and he leans into Dean’s personal space. “Bendy too.”

Dean’s mouth falls open and Cas turns with a wink so he can order his coffee, his dark hair thick and wild. Dean wonders if it’s as soft as it looks.

Nope. He’s not going to survive this at all.

Summary:

Recently demoted from his job as a field agent, Castiel is back behind a desk. It’s humiliating to be here with the same coworkers he left behind only a few months ago, but he’s bound and determined to keep his head down, do his job, and prove to his boss that he won’t make the same mistakes twice. Everything is going as planned until he finds himself distracted by one of the people he’s charged with monitoring: Dean Winchester.

Despite the music playing loudly in the background, Cas can hear the tapping of keys. Dean looks down at his fingers when he types, and Cas notes the way his tongue pokes between his teeth as he concentrates. Cas has watched a lot of people via a lot of webcams over the years and, despite the boredom inherent in this part of the job, at least this particular charge is easy on the eyes. Even though he’s only thought it, Cas finds himself furtively looking around at the other cubicles, as if one of them could read his mind. His sexuality is his own business, not relevant to his job or up for discussion. He prides himself on keeping his professional and private lives separate, a task that sounds noble, but is made easier by the fact that he has very little private life to speak of.

His assessment of this gift to his senses changes when Dean begins to whistle along with the music, then bursts into song, both painfully off key. He tugs out one ear bud, but there’s no escaping it completely. Cas doesn’t know the song, but with a few clicks he finds the Youtube playlist and he’s able to identify it as Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.

Watching him, Cas starts to formulate a profile in his mind. There are curious gaps he’d like to fill. What’s happened with Dean’s father? Why did Dean have to step in so early as a parental figure to his brother? How does that mesh with the fact that he seems to be close with one of his younger brother’s friends? Dean is a confusing mixture of young and old….the car and music both belonging to an older generation while his friends are younger. Perhaps Cas did have reason to up his surveillance level, based on an underlying instinct to which he’s finally learned to listen. Cas continues to watch until Dean moves away from his computer. All he’s done is check emails and surf a few recipe sites. When Dean closes his laptop, Cas carefully records his observations and moves on to someone else.

Summary:

As a witch in a small coastal town, Castiel’s life is turned upside down when a spell gone wrong leaves him bound to an attractive incubus named Dean. This would be great…except Castiel’s asexual and certainly not about to have sex with a demon he’s just met. With time running out for Dean, Castiel’s forced on a road trip towards a mysterious ritual to break the bond, because there’s no way he’s falling for a sex demon…right?

“You’re dressed,” Castiel mumbled, his voice even more deep and gravelly before, which was absolutely unfair. The last thing Dean needed in this unbonding adventure with a man impossibly not attracted to him was to find more reasons why he was hot.

“I remembered that humans typically consume a meal in the morning,” Dean replied, “And I wanted meat.”

Castiel made a face. “I do understand that innuendo, you know.”

“Dude,” Dean pretended to be scandalized as Castiel rubbed a tired hand across his face. “I meant bacon.” Dean had fallen in love the first time he’d sampled bacon. It didn’t keep his form satiated, but it tasted amazing. Was it the reason he’d gotten dressed? Not exactly. But Castiel didn’t need to know as much.

He was met with another one of Castiel’s squints, which was starting to become annoyingly endearing (yet another thing to add to the list). Dean couldn’t help it, he laughed. Castiel scowled, pushing out of bed. “It’s too early for any of this,” Castiel grumbled, eyes opening wide as he noticed his duffle bag set on the checkered table.

“Thanks,” Castiel mumbled, though he refused to look at Dean as he pulled a toothbrush from within and shuffled to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

The emptiness of the room left Dean alone with his racing thoughts. He was not supposed to find Castiel adorable. Could it be the bond? Potentially. After all, it had been several centuries since Dean had been forcibly summoned. These days, most people might not be interested in spells, but they were interested in meaningless sex with hot strangers. There were even cell phone applications devoted to it. Dean was marginally decent at operating a human phone, although they seemed to change every time he returned to Earth.

If Sam were here, he’d no doubt have a number of facts about the side-effects of bonds, but for now, Dean was left to assume that any feelings he had for Castiel remained solely in the bounds of hungry, sexual need. Nothing more. He repeated the phrase like a mantra to himself as he followed Castiel to the car.

Summary:

“Dean, there’s something you should know about me. I’m demisexual.”
Dean only had a vague idea what that meant.
“Uh, okay. I’m not that sure what that means…”
Cas frowned and tilted his head. “It means that I can only become sexual with someone I feel a strong emotional attachment to.”
Dean nodded. “Okay, I get that. Let me ask you something?”
Cas nodded.
“Did you have a good time with me tonight?”
Cas very quietly answered, “Yes, I did.”

They called a family meeting. When Charlie and Dot were sitting together on the couch. Dean stood up from the chair he was sitting in, clasped his hands behind his back and started to pace.

“I imagine you are all wondering why I’ve called you here today…”

Cas laughed but said, “Just get on with it, Dean.”

Dean frowned but sat down again.

“We were thinking… well, if you wanted to stay on after the babies were born.”

Charlie looked shocked.

“What are you saying, Cas?”

“We’re saying we want you to stay. Help us with the babies. Live here. With us.”

Dorothy looked at Charlie, who was looking at them hard.

“You mean it? Like, stay forever?’

Dean smiled at her. “Yeah, forever. See the kids grow up. Be their mother.”

Charlie burst into tears.

“I… I’d love to! Thank you so much!”

Cas smiled at her. “Well, they’re your babies too.”

Dorothy smiled as well. “We accept.”

Dean stood up. “Good deal! It’s all settled then.”

They all hugged.

Later, in the kitchen. Cas pulled Dean into a hug.

“I think it was the right thing to do. I’m really happy they accepted.”

Dean kissed him. “Me too. It takes a big load off my mind.”

Time passed. Charlie was getting bigger by the day, or so it seemed to all of them. She was miserable. Her back hurt. Her feet were swollen, not that she could see them. She was always peeing and she needed help to stand up. She was cheerful, though. Dot had told Cas that it meant a lot to them that they could stay.

“She was feeling very sad at the thought of leaving the babies, and I was having problems finding us a place to live.”

Cas smiled at her. “Well, that’s all taken care of now.”
