Tons of reasons. One of which is that people go back to read fics multiple times, but they can only kudos once. The longer a fic has been up, the higher the hit count while kudos tend to level off over time.
Plus, I didn’t actually notice the kudos button for the first maybe six months I was on AO3. So there’s that XD
The fact that Steve hasn’t told any Marx Brothers level corny jokes in the MCU is a crime and you know it. I swear to god. That was the brand of humor popular in the thirties and forties. Steve would absolutely say “I once shot a nazi in my pajamas.” And everyone would be like “really?” And he’d totally deadpan be like “yeah, how he got in my pajamas I’ll never know.” And while I’m certain that Thor, Clint, and Peter would fuckin love that everyone else would hate it. Natasha might personally kill him I’m not sure.
“The weirdest thing?” Kathy asks, her voice unnaturally loud. “The weirdest thing!”
“Oh shit,” Alice mutters. She jumps up on the counter and crawls into the heating vents. Rey has ducked beneath a table and out of sight.
“Did you know,” Kathy says, talking far too loudly – almost yelling, really, “that there is a madman who drives a blue box who doesn’t actually have the license – or the talent – to drive said blue box, and in fact has a habit of crashing said blue box into places – people – things, and making off with other people’s very important coffee-making equipment and bringing it back two months later and it’s sentient. And worse, it doesn’t know how to make coffee anymore! Now it just knows how to make apple juice. But not out of apples. It only uses pears!”
She slams her hands down on the counter and stares at @dreamhunter-trash. “There is something very, very wrong about a coffee pot that only knows how to make apple juice out of pears. Something very, very wrong.”
The cuteness of the two brothers hugging had melted my internal organs. After we — mostly Dean — ate all the pies, the kids went to Cas’s room to burn off some sugar. We skipped ice cream for now. Which left me and the handsome teenager sitting on the couch. Alone.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:
IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.
1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.
2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.
3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”
4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”
5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.
TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.
