This is the Best holiday decoration ever.

Best Christmas thing ever. I don’t decorate for Christmas, but if I did, I’d decorate with a festive cephalopod.

I don’t know what makes me happier:

  1. The incredible talent that went into making these
  2. My usual amount of *squee* over cephalopods in general
  3. The question from @warlockwriter to @threshie about drawing a knit octo!cas
  4. The fact that there could be a knit octo!Cas, and then I *could* in fact have an octo!Castiel for Christmas
  5. The super awesome @ladylilithprime who brought this awesome post to my attention!!

All I want for Christmas is an octo!Castiel, only an octo!Castiel will do……

While they are not psychology majors, octopuses can be very clever when it comes to hunting strategies.

I especially love this one, a scare tactic quite efficient, especially with shrimps. The octopus will creep up to its prey and tap it on its shoulder. Out of sheer reflex, the startled victim will leap away from whatever touched it, ending into the clutches of the waiting octopus. 

Simple and effective. But in order to do that, the octopus must be able to understand some basic psychology, or to project itself in the mind of the victim. Or maybe I go too far, but in any case I find it amazing !
