My whole campus just went on lockdown and no one knows what’s going on

4pm and still on lockdown

Thank you all so much for your concerns. I’m sorry it took so long to let you know. They didn’t tell us anything for a long time. I was working with another teacher with no students in the room at the time.

They hauled all the kids off the playground.

Kids in portables were escorted to the main building.

We had to lock doors, turn off lights, close curtains.

Kids needing to use the bathroom were escorted.

The danger was across the street, not in our building.

They were starting to let kids go when parents came to pick them up, everyone being escorted.

Finally lifted lockdown around 4:20 I think?

So some guy was across the street behaving erratically, shouting about being surrounded. He was being very crazy and he was just wandering all over the place.

Most kids were gone because Fridays kids get out at 12:30 and teachers have meetings. So it was mostly teachers and kids in the after school program.

Probably no actual real danger, but there was a possibility with this crazy person, so it took a while for police to come and subdue him.

It was a long wait not knowing what was happening.

Yeah, I was a little scared.
