Yesterday I filled my first sketchbook. What started out because I had this one idea in my head almost a year ago that I couldn’t get rid of has become a full fledged hobby. I picked 10 pics from my sketchbook that I am particularly proud of, including the literal first and last sketch.

Tonight I worked on muscles. I liked skulls better. Muscles are hard. There are 5 months of these streams for me to catch up on, so this is definitely going to keep me busy this summer!!

I’m not really sure where this came from, beyond “today is a good day to break in my new sketchbook” and “what if an octopus tried to be a tree” and “I really like octopuses, can I possibly encorporate them into this hypothetical tattoo I want to get?” And this, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, germs, trees, and octopi of all ages, is what my brain does after thinking all of those things.

While I was at a BBQ this weekend, this awesome pupper consented to sit still long enough for me to sketch her. She was so cute and let me pet her and wasn’t scary at all (sometimes I find doggies scary, especially if they are super jumpy or growly or barky).
