desperately-seeking-words:

Rowena and Charlie are at a little pub outside of Reno when Sam calls.

Rowena doesn’t bother to hide her surprise.  Charlie leans over to look at the phone in her hand with eyebrows raised.  “You know, it’s not going to answer itself,” Charlie reminds her as she takes a sip of her vodka tonic.

Rowena looks at her.  “I know that,” she says with an edge in her voice.  “But, with Samuel?  There are only a few reasons why he might call me…and I usually don’t like what happens next.”

Charlie shrugs.  “Really?  I thought I saw you looking pretty pleased when he was chatting you up the night we came through the portal.”

Rowena sighs.

“If you don’t answer tall, brooding, and handsome, I will,” Charlie says, reaching for the phone.

Rowena snatches it away and accepts the call.  “What is it, Samuel?” She asks, drawing out Sam’s name.  “End the world again already?”

“Not exactly,” comes Sam’s reply, and Rowena would be lying if she said that hearing his voice didn’t make her stomach flip.  “Well, I guess, maybe, but that’s not why I called.”

Rowena frowns.  “Consider me thoroughly comforted by that remark,” she says, fighting to keep from rolling her eyes.  “What is it with you Winchesters…”

“Rowena,” Sam interrupts her.  “He’s dead.”

This gives Rowena pause.  Now, she could picture him calling her about Dean on the off chance she might be able to do something to fix it, but Sam’s voice sounded too…relieved.

Rowena gasps out a laugh.  “You can’t mean…?”

“I do. Lucifer is gone.  For good.”

Tears of joy prick her eyes and Rowena is grinning so hard she’s afraid her face might split in half.  “Truly?”

“We don’t have to be afraid anymore.”

Rowena is grateful for the distance between them, because if he was right there in front of her, she might not be able to refrain from hugging him.  She covers her mouth with her hand and just breathes in the moment.

But in this pause, she notices something.  Behind that relief in Sam’s voice is a twinge of loss.  Her smile fades.  “At what cost?”

“What?”

“Sam,” she tries again, “what did it cost?”

Sam sighs, and it’s heavy with the weight of the world.  “It’s Dean,” he says, his voice small and quiet in a way that sounds so utterly defeated.  Rowena hates it.  “In order to beat him, Dean had to…Dean let Michael in.”

“And now he’s not letting go of his prize,” Rowena fills in the blank.

Sam says nothing.  He doesn’t need to.

“You and the angel must be fraught.”

“Understatement,” Sam confirms after a moment.

Rowena glances over at Charlie, who has been sipping her drink and trying way too hard to make it seem like she’s not listening.  “What do you need me to do?”

“What? No, this isn’t your problem.  You don’t have to-”

“As much as I appreciate you giving me an out, let’s face it: if Michael can defeat Lucifer, then he can be worse than Lucifer.  He can’t go unchecked.”  Rowena sighs.  She can’t believe she’s doing this.  “So let’s put him in check,” she says slowly, really emphasizing the last syllable.

“I won’t lie, we could really use your help.”  Sam pauses.  “I could.”

“Lucky for you I’m practically going for sainthood these days,” Rowena says airily.

“Yeah, right,” Sam says with a laugh in his voice.  It’s nice to hear in contrast to the defeat she heard in his voice just a moment ago.

“We’ll head your way in the next day or so.  See you-”

“Rowena.”

Rowena pauses.  “Yes?”

“Thank you.  Really.”

Rowena smiles and says nothing.  After a moment, she hangs up and turns to Charlie, who is looking back at her with a smug expression on her face.

“What are you looking at me like that for?” Rowena asks, irritated.

“I love it when the baddies turn good for love,” Charlie replies.

Rowena rolls her eyes.  “Please, love?  Don’t be absurd.”

Charlie grins.  “You literally just volunteered to jump into preventing the apocalypse just because he needs you.  He even gave you the option of not getting involved.”

“You’re really rather nosy, aren’t you?”

“Point is, you used to be this awful witch that didn’t care if you killed anyone.  At least, that’s the cliff notes version I got. Now you and Sam have bonded over your shared trauma and you’re going to help him save his brother, which, from what I’ve gathered in my short time with them, is pretty much the best thing you could possibly ever do for either one of the Adonis brothers.” Charlie takes a sip of her drink.  “He’s going to be so grateful,” she adds, waggling her eyebrows.

“Come off it,” Rowena snaps. “I’m not doing it for him, I’m doing it for the world, which I happen to live in, you know.”

“Yeah, but also, you’re doing it at least a little bit for him.”

“No.”

“Yeah.”

Rowena shakes her head.  “I’ll just leave you to your delusions.”  With that, she gets up and starts heading towards the exit, but Charlie is hot on her heels chanting something about “ship names” and which one would be best.

But Rowena ignores her, because…Sam and Rowena?  Never gonna happen.

Sam x Rowena (for @bunnybaby121115 and @royalrowena)

“Rowena, what the hell is this, what are you doing to me?”
Sam pulled back a little, but still kept his arms around her. He didn’t want to
let go, but something told him that something very wrong was going on here.

“Samuel, I swear, I’m not…” But Sam bared his teeth and
practically growled at her. He
reached up and grabbed her hair near the base and pulled.

“Rowena, I can’t…I’m sorry, I can’t…what the hell is that?”

She felt the pull between them, she did. Something was going
on. It started the moment Sam had pulled her into his arms. She felt desire.
Stronger than ever before. But Sam was clearly affected differently. He couldn’t
let her go. His pure animal instinct took over. He leaned in again, and slowly
started to nibble and lick on her earlobe.

“God Rowena, I can’t keep my hands off of you!” He exhaled
sharply into her neck.

Rowena’s eyes had been shut. But when she felt Sam’s breath
on her neck, she felt something else, too. And then she knew immediately what
it was. She sat up quickly and tried to push Sam away gently. But he held on
tight. He did not want to let go.

“Samuel, listen to me. I know what this is.”

“What.” Sam growled, keeping his head buried in her neck.

“We share a mutual trauma.”

“Yes.”

“We share something else.”

Sam’s head lifted slightly.

“Magic.”

“Magic?” Sam lifted his head fully, but he did not let her
go. “Rowena, I do not have any – “ But Rowena reached her hand up and put it in
his hair.

“You do Sam. You do.

For now, Sam had no control. He had to have her. His skin
burned with desire. When he touched her, all seemed right with the world. And
she let him.

“We’ll work this out later, Rowena, but right now…I need
you.”

“I need you too, Sam…”

A soft purple haze started forming over their heads when he
kissed her.

“Rowena, what is that?” he murmured into her ear, nibbling
and sucking as he spoke.

She smiled. “I told you Sam. That’s magic. That’s all you…”

Sam glanced at the purple sparks and smiled. He was ready
for whatever happened next. He inhaled her scent and began nibbling on her neck
again.

That’s when the door burst open.

“What the hell is going on in here!”

Again guys, something new. Never done this pairing. Not finished with this story either…feedback is appreciated…

Sam x Rowena

Warnings:None

Words: 907

Thank goodness Dean was out for the night, or he would have
been pissed.

She showed up around 11 o’clock. He was in a t-shirt and his
sleep pants; a soft, thin pair of sweats. It was hot out, but he didn’t like
sleeping bare, so these hung loosely around his hips and gave him the coverage
he wanted. They were quite comfortable for Sam. Except he was usually alone
when he was in his pajamas. Well, there was Dean, but obviously Sam didn’t care
about that.

She walked in as casually as any friend might have. Someone
who is always welcomed and happy to be seen. Except the bunker was warded and
secure, and Sam had no idea how she got in.

He was sitting in the library, comfortable in his pajamas
and glass of whiskey in his hand. She slowly walked around the corner, her cape
pulled tightly against her. Sam nearly choked on his drink.

Her sudden appearance startled him, and he reached for his
gun, but when he saw who it was and the state she was in, his look changed from
anger to softness.

“Rowena, what the hell – how did you – oh shit, are you ok?”
He set down his drink and headed over to her, wrapping his arm around her and
leading her to the couch.

She was sobbing. Actually sobbing. Her face was red, and he
could tell she had been crying for a long time. She was shaking, too. He could
see real fear behind those eyes. He knew that fear.

She wasn’t able to answer him.

They sat down on the couch, Rowena letting Sam guide her. He
tried again.

“Rowena?” He asked gently. He tucked a lock of her red hair
behind her ear, and she shivered under his touch.

“Samuel – I…I can’t.” her voice was barely a whisper. Sam frowned.

“It’s him, isn’t it. Fucking Lucifer.”

Rowena’s eyes widened in fear and she nodded slowly.

“His…face. I can’t stop…” she was gasping for breath, and
Sam pulled her close to his chest. He began stroking her hair.

“Sshh. It’s ok. I’m here. Let me help you.” This was strangely
easy for Sam. He didn’t feel angry or concerned for his safety. This wasn’t a
ruse. This was real. Rowena needed him. Really needed him. He let all his walls
fall down and held her close. He found himself kissing her hairline.

“It’s been a week, Samuel. I can’t sleep. I can’t eat. I can’t
stop seeing his real face. Can’t stop feeling the pain he gave me. It’s non stop.
It won’t go away. Please. Please help me.” She choked back yet another sob.

Sam closed his eyes, pulling her more tightly to him. He
knew that pain. He didn’t want anyone – anyone – to feel that pain.

Rowena sagged into his arms, letting herself become
vulnerable, too.

“Sam, please, don’t let me go.”

“I won’t.”

They sat for a few minutes, just sitting in silence. Sam was
stroking her hair and Rowena was starting to calm in his touch. She knew this
would comfort her. She knew Sam would be the one. She wanted his arms around
her. Feeling him this closely, she wanted even more.

She had felt it the last time they were together. When Sam
tried to shoot her. She felt his pain and anguish. He hadn’t wanted to. She
knew he had wanted to reach out to her, but his Winchester instincts took over,
and well… that was never easily broken. She had already forgiven him for that.
She knew he wanted to take that back. She knew.

Now she really needed him. The only other person alive she
knew that had seen Lucifer’s real face.

She wanted Sam. She knew now, in his touch, that she wanted
him. Wanted his arms, his lips, his body. He would keep her safe. He may be fated
to kill her, but – who knew? Maybe that wouldn’t be for a hundred years…maybe…she
tried not to think about it.

She thought about using magic. Thought about using the
purple haze to get him to succumb to her. To be more pliant and open. It would
be easy. He’d never even notice. Really, all she had to do was just – suggest it.
It wouldn’t hurt him, and she couldn’t find it in her heart to do that now
anyway – she just wanted to feel him close. Hurting Sam Winchester was almost
impossible. The purple haze would just entice
him, make him more open to desire. She started to wiggle her fingers, but in
that moment, Sam turned her towards him.

“Rowena, do you feel that?” He looked deeply into her eyes.

She turned to him and nodded, lowering her hand. She might
not need magic after all.

“What is that?”

She shrugged. She wasn’t using magic. But she felt the pull.
So did Sam, apparently.

“Are you – ?”

“No, I’m not…”

He leaned in and kissed her.

The fire she felt. The passion. It was slow and intense. The
heat in her belly pooled around her and she wrapped her arms around him. Their lips
slid against each other, warm and wet.

Sam pulled back and looked at her.

“Rowena.” He tucked his fingers under her chin. “I don’t
know what this is…”

But he leaned in again and kissed hard and deep, pulling
Rowena as close to his body as he could.
