Michael messes with Dean. Meanwhile, Sam’s not exactly holding it together.

Dean takes the stairs two steps at a time, his heart roaring in his ears. Michael’s last words still ring in his head– you kick me out, Dean, and you lose everything.
He comes across Jack first. He’s slumped across the map room table, the gash in his head leaking sluggishly across Asia, soaking towards Europe. Dean falls forward, like he’s in a dream Reaches for his pulse.
No.
His legs feel like lead as he staggers towards the door, following another trail. Mom, in the hallway, an angel blade still clutched in her fist. Her eyes are open, but the light behind them is dead. Dean swallows back vomit.
“Sammy!”
The library looks like a tornado blew through it. Dean closes his eyes, thinking of his brother’s painstaking filing, his card catalog. He’s slumped across it. If he could, Dean knows his brother would be bitching about the stains.
Instead, he just lays there, unmoving. This time, he throws up, hands on his knees, hands shaking.
Dean knows all too well what he’s going to see next. But it doesn’t stop him from running towards his room.

-Cas asking how Sam is and Sam actually admitting he’s not okay/vice versa
May I add? During the whole fight, Cas, trapped on this chair, was tracking Sam and only Sam.

- What is the status of Cas’ power? That is, why the f*ck did he not realize he was sitting in a restaurant of demons?
- If they are bringing Nick/Nick!Lucifer back, is there hope for Gabe?
- WTF are they gonna do with Nick?
- Powers!Sam? KingOfHell!Sam?
- Demons…..eat people?
- Did everyone forget their exorcisms?
- Why did we not get an actual “next time on Supernatural”?
- Cas didn’t see the demons because the plot demanded he be kidnapped.
- Even if Gabriel’s vessel is alive, he’s stuck in the AU for the time being with no way of getting back.
- Bucklemming REALLY wants a Lucifer redemption arc. I’m hoping Nick is the compromise on that and they’re not going to do something like “lol jk it was Lucifer all along even though we DEFINITELY killed him!”
- I’m hoping for Rowena as Queen of Hell with Sam as her consort tbh, but BoyKing!Sam finally coming to fruition would be cool too.
- I mean, it’s canon that Lillith ate newborns and that Lucifer’s demons ate Crowley’s tailor in season 5. If you can think of something vile and depraved, I’m sure demons have done it.

- Because the CW thinks Supernatural is the best way to pimp out its other shows and that’s basically it. They did this for a few weeks when Riverdale originally premiered too.

Okay, thinking about it, the only acceptable reason to bother with Nick is if to have canon proof that you can kill the archangel without killing the human, thus saving Dean without it being way too implausible, since pretty much every other angel has lost body and grace, but only one has been stabbed with an archangel blade.
Hm. Acceptable alternative to Dean ejecting him I guess.
I think if it had been a killing blow to a human, instead of not hitting a vital organ like the heart or something, it would’ve killed Nick’s vessel too.
But the only one who can USE the archangel blade is another archangel, and Dinkle is the only one we currently have to hand. I doubt we can convince him to stab himself in a non-fatal-to-Dean way///
I suppose in theory that Dean could pull a Bobby and retake control of his vessel just long enough to stab himself.
But honestly I don’t think either of the two potential ways they introduced to kill Michael today are going to be the way it happens. (Probably not the Lance, either, though it was distinctly not mentioned today so who knows.)

UGH YES THANK YOU I was so angrily confused like wtf, Nick is gone, he’s in Heaven (or hell IDK wherever he ended up) his vessel was destroyed and this one was just a copy Crowley made. There shouldn’t be a soul in it.
And even if by some chance there were, the whole “archangel blades don’t kill the host” thing is beyond bullshit. I seem to be in the minority of actually having really enjoyed this ep (even if I desperately missed Dean, but listen, that was the whole point), but this plot hole was big enough to drive a truck through and I just … grrrrr.
YES!!! that is what confused me I just couldn’t put my finger on it!!! The only way I can see it not being a plot hole is if somehow Lucifer survived and is pretending to be Nick WHICH ALSO MAKES ME INCREDIBLY ANGRY AS WELL…and brings me back to my very first question: What is the status of Cas’ powers??
